Privacy policy

Barricade is a Chrome extension that blocks websites you choose. This policy describes what data exists, where it lives, and the one narrow case where anything leaves your machine.

What stays on your device

Everything the extension itself works with is stored locally in your browser via Chrome's storage API and is never transmitted anywhere:

• Your blocklist
• Your schedule windows and password hash (Pro)
• Blocked-attempt counts

The extension has no account system and no server of ours to send anything to. Blocking is enforced by Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API, which means Barricade does not read or record your browsing activity.

The one exception: payments

Pro purchases are handled by ExtensionPay, with payment processing by Stripe. To make this work, the bundled ExtensionPay library communicates with extensionpay.com to register an anonymous installation identifier and check whether Pro is unlocked. If you buy Pro, ExtensionPay and Stripe receive the email address and payment details you enter at checkout — we never see your card number. Their handling of that data is governed by ExtensionPay's privacy policy and Stripe's privacy policy. Your blocklist and browsing are never part of this — only purchase status.

What we don't do

• No analytics, tracking, or telemetry
• No ads
• No selling or sharing of any data with anyone, for any purpose

Data deletion

Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data. To request deletion of purchase records held by ExtensionPay/Stripe, email support@barricadehq.com and we'll handle it within 30 days.
